About Legislatech
A tool to automate the monitoring of Brazilian public documents.
Legislatech is a tool developed by Núcleo Jornalismo to monitor public documents— especially legislative proceedings and official gazettes —for topics of your interest. It sends automated, customized reports and generates knowledge that can be turned into action.
To use Legislatech, simply choose three parameters directly on the platform:
- Which terms you want to track in Brazilian government documents.
- Which government bodies you want to monitor.
- How often you want to receive automated alerts.
From there, the tool runs a customized scan every 30 minutes, collecting all documents that mention your keywords publised by the government bodies you chose to follow.
Legislatech today monitors more than 600 sources and has already found almost 4 million documents for its +1,300 users. The tool allows journalists, researchers, NGOs, advocacy groups and more to monitor keywords that are important for their field and follow up closely on public actions.
It saves hours of work, allows people to act faster on a matter of interest and gathers all information in just one place.

Legislatech AI
Legislatech AI is a Brazilian federal laws search engine. It is an experimental artificial intelligence project from Legislatech and is still in development. This tool uses all the power of generative AI to assist in discovering and understanding Brazilian legislation. You can search in Portuguese or in English.
Unlike other AI search platforms, Legislatech AI relies on a very specific dataset, using methods that restrict what the tool can answer, helping to avoid unexpected behavior or hallucinations.
For now, Legislatech AI has data from Brazilian federal legislation (ordinary laws, complementary laws, statutes and codes) and some regulatory norms, but we plan to expand soon with other information, such as legislative regulations and state laws.
Legislatech AI is free to use. Logged-out users can make 5 queries/hour, and logged-in users can make 30.

Legislatech AI’s mission is to make access to Brazilian legislation easier and more democratic, helping users to ask questions and understand specific laws without prior legal knowledge.
The project was created to serve as a bridge between public data and society, expanding the capacity to monitor and hold government accountable.
Núcleo also created a public repository with all the data and datasets collected and organized for the development of Legislatech AI.
Origin
Legislatech was created by Núcleo Jornalismo to improve their coverage on tech issues in Brazil, allowing them to follow up closely on new bills or public actions related to digital platforms, social networks and artificial intelligence.
The tool proved so useful that we decided to create a standalone, commercially viable product, capable of delivering real impact for users and ensuring the project’s economic sustainability.
